Mr Jokes to release three more titles

There will be more laughs this year as the country’s top thespian Mr Jokes is set to release three more DVDs by April.

Mr Jokes, real name Andrea Thonyiwa, told The Nation in Mzuzu that his comedies have proved to be hit; hence, the need to release more titles.

He said the three pieces include Bachelor Pa Line Part II, Stand Up Comedy Part V and Mr Bean Style Part II.

“I have realised that a lot of people love my work; wherever I go I am making huge sales. With that, I see no reason why I should not release new titles,” said Mr Jokes.

He said he has incorporated unique scenes that people will love.

“I have incorporated unique scenes that will provide fun to families. For example, in Mr Bean Style, I have borrowed the comedian’s style such as doing really awkward things such as eating nsima in the bank,” said Mr Jokes.

The new DVDs were recorded by Jabuloma Studio in Blantyre and they will bring to five the total number of the thespian’s releases. He released his first title in 2009.

Mr Jokes has vowed to continue on his nationwide crusade of directly selling his product.

“Despite the threats I am getting from other sectors, I will continue selling my DVDs on my own rather than through distributors so as to personally reach out to more people,” he said.

This is despite his arrest in Blantyre last month on charges of causing common nuisance, as a result of selling DVDs while wooing customers using a public address system. n
